The Interim Director of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mykhailo Brodovych has appealed to the MP, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Valeriy Lunchenko to finally decide on the opinion of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration about the opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Uzhgorod.
Last year, the MFA of Ukraine received the appeal of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ukraine on the opening of the Honorary Consulate in Uzhgorod with the consular district in Transcarpathian region.
Under the current legislation, opening of extraordinary consular offices of foreign countries aims to expand trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the countries at the regional level, and is initiated by the sending State and does not entail obligations to provide facilities and property by local authorities.
