Just over 50% of voters will come to polls in Transcarpathia – expert

More than 50% of the voters will come to vote in the presidential election at the polling stations in Transcarpathia.

These numbers on voter turnout in the region are predicted by experts. This was announced by Fedir Shandor, Ph.D., sociologist, the director of the Carpathian Polling Research Center.

"In respect of Transcarpathia, nothing changes: 50+1. If there is the will of the elites, we expect the turnout of 50% +1%. I’m not ready now to make more accurate predictions. After the first of May and the Victory Day, it will be clearer – he said. – Everything depends on how it will take place. Then we can talk about the turnout more specifically. In Transcarpathia, it has always been over 59%. I think this election will not be the exception. The migrant works season has began, 35% of the working population are outside Transcarpathia, but together we will make 51%."

As for Ukraine as a whole, "we definitely lost 1 million 800 thousand, but according to the Constitution, Crimeans have the right to vote. Although Ukraine does not recognize that it is annexed territory, it is the reason for some political parties to say that those people did not vote" – Fedir Shandor said.
