The memory of those who deceased during the World Patriotic War is being commemorated on the Day of Sorrow in the towns and villages of Transcarpathia today.
The head of the Regional Council Ivan Baloga and the Governor Alexandr Ledyda, the regional council’s representatives, the heads of veteran organizations, military and the public representatives gathered at the foot of hill of Glory in Uzhgorod on Friday morning. They went to the Eternal Fire in order to put wreaths at the monument to the fallen, to worship the blessed memory and to incline their heads in sorrow for all victims of that horrible war.
