In Transcarpathian region, as well as throughout Ukraine, they are conducting the complex of preventive measures codenamed "Customs control". Today, journalists joined the inspectors.
During the raid, traffic police inspectors stopped more than a dozen vehicles registered abroad to check the legality of their stay in Ukraine. Representative of customs office right there on the spot checked the date of such vehicles’ entry to the territory of the state. All the checked vehicles complied with the provisions of applicable law. Each driver explained that he clearly understood the requirements of the law and observed them.
Remember that if a foreign vehicle stays in Ukraine for over 2 months while not being registered with the traffic police, the driver shall be brought to administrative responsibility in the form a fine from 170 to 255 UAH (Part 6 of Art. 121 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences). In the case of repeated commission of the offense within one year, the driver shall be brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine from 255 to 510 UAH or public works with compensated confiscation of the vehicle.
Also, drivers who violate the provisions of the customs legislation shall be held responsible by customs authorities in accordance with the Customs Code of Ukraine.
