On June 25, well-known and respected in the region and beyond cultural activist, scholar, Rector of the Transcarpathian Art Institute Ivan Nebesnyk celebrates his 60th anniversary.

On the occasion of the anniversary, in the auditorium of the Institute, there was an expanded meeting of the academic council of the instittute, which was attended by the leading domestic scientists, art historians, representatives of cultural and educational sectors of Transcarpathia, intellectuals of the region.

Since 1982, working as a teacher in Uzhgorod School of Applied Arts, Ivan Nebesnyk has gained a considerable prestige among peers and in 1990 was elected the headmaster of the institution. Under his leadership, five years later, the school became the College, and later, in 2003, the Transcarpathian Art Institute was founded.

The next step is the Academy. At least, that is what the guests sincerely wished Ivan Nebesnyk as a successor of Adalbert Erdelyi. Transcarpathian art school is one of the richest and most original schools in Ukraine and it certainly deserves to be represented at its own academy. Now this prospect is close as ever: the institute has successfully passed the licensing examination and is now waiting for official confirmation.
