17,000 UAH for wanting to sell a wedding dress over the Internet. This amount of money was cheated by scammers out of a trusting resident of Mukachevo.
According to a 28-year-old woman, she posted photos of her wedding dress on a popular online store. Soon an unknown person called on her mobile phone and without hesitation offered the price the woman asked. The man asked if the seller had a bank card to transfer the money to. And, sending to her cell different codes, ciphers, the man managed to obfuscate the girl’s mind and and she gave him the code to her card… Then, in a few minutes, all the money were gone from her account, and that was 17,000 UAH!
The next day, when the woman realized that she had been cheated, she appealed to the police.
According to the deputy chief of Mukachevo city police department Valeriy Myshanych, such cases are not uncommon. Internet frauds are now gaining popularity. Thus, under the pretext of buying baby carriages, bicycles, clothing or even equipment, scammers cheat money out of unsuspecting residents of Mukachevo.
The police once again remind people not to be too trusting with strangers, especially over the phone. In no case disclose your personal data on accounts where you keep your money.
