The 5th FRIENDSHIP CUP UZHGOROD 2020 International Hockey Tournament was held yesterday in Uzhgorod. This competition attended by foreign participants has become traditional.
This year, 4 amateur teams from Slovakia (HK Svidnik, HK Sobrance, HK Snina, HK Bratislava) took part in the competition, and Transcarpathia was represented by the combined team of the region and the main organizer of the competition – the hockey team Transcarpathian Bears (captain – Serhiy Kovach). The organizers of the competition are hockey team Transcarpathian Bears, Transcarpathian Ice Hockey Federation, Uzhgorod City Council and Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
The last game determined the final results. Like last year, Transcarpathian Bears became the winners of the international hockey tournament. According to the results, the team Sobrance won second place, Snina – third, Bratislava – fourth, Svidnik – fifth.
The mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv participated in the awarding ceremony. The head of the Transcarpathian Ice Hockey Federation Vasyl Yabryk also congratulated to the winners and participants. The tournament organizers expressed their hope that the good hockey tradition in Uzhgorod would continue next year.
