International Culinary Festival-Competition will be held in Uzhgorod

A presentation of the IV International Culinary Festival-Competition «Transcarpathian BBQ FEST-2012 – food on fire fest!" took place in Uzhgorod Press Club. The celebration will be held on Poshtova Square in Uzhgorod on August 25-26, 2012 and will be the central point for mass festivities on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of Independence of Ukraine.
The organizers have invited everybody who enjoys a delicious outdoor holiday. "We invite amateur cooks and their families, as well as those involved in catering to compete with others for the title of the culinary leader" – said the co-organizer of the holiday, a representative of the NGO «KarpatEvent» Alexander Meryavchik.
According to him, the jury will judge participants in four categories (chicken wings, grilled fish, grilled brisket and dessert made on grill). Within two days teams will cook the 4 dishes. There will also be a public nomination of "Fan-champion". All guests will receive coupons for voting, and their number will determine the winner in this category.
In addition, the festival organizers are inviting all food producers in Transcarpathia.
Last year, the BBQ FEST was attended by 16 teams, even the guests from Luhansk region. This year foreign teams are expected too.

The criteria by which chefs’ works will be judged are the following: the idea of ​​a dish, its appearance, the degree and quality of roasting, and the main criteria – taste, – said A. Meryavchik.
