International boxing tournament has finished in Uzhgorod

The international boxing tournament "Uzhhorod challenge 2019" devoted to the memory of the master of sports of the USSR Andranat Nikoghosyan took place in the sports complex "Yunist" in Uzhgorod. Yesterday in the evening, the competitions finished with "elite fights" of German and Ukrainian boxers, which were preceded by the final fights of the junior day’s program. Recall that in addition to Transcarpathian boxers, teams from Ivano-Frankivsk, Mariupol, Zaporizhzhya, Ternopil, as well as from Germany, Slovakia and Hungary participated in the competitions.

The competition was organized with the support of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Uzhgorod City Council, Transcarpathian Youth Sports School, Uzhgorod Boxing Federation and the Armenian Union of Ukraine.

 The teams of Ukraine and Germany did ten fightts in the category "Elite Boxers".

They started with the 69 kg category, and in the first fight, 19-year-old Yuri Poyda from Uzhorod defeated German boxer Philip Dzubara. The Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv awarded the athletes with medals and diplomas. The second fight ended with a draw, in the following ones, the winners were athletes from Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Dnipro, etc. Uzhgorod was also represented in the ring by boxers Heorhiy Kushnarenko and Volodymyr Borovsky.

Every victory brought the team 3 points, draw – 2, defeat – 1. The match between the Ukrainian team and the German team ended with a victory of Ukraine with a general score of 25:15. The winners received cups.
