“Inter arma silent Mysae” – “In time of war, muses are silent.”

The opening of the exhibition dedicated to the participation of Transcarpathians in the events of the Euromaidan and the war in the east of the state in 2013-2015 is being prepare in Uzhgorod.

The exhibits were selected by experts of the Augustine Voloshin and modern history department of the Transcarpathian Regional Museum, namely the head of the department Ivan Oros, senior fellow Larysa Lesho and researcher Dean Khrizman.

The compilers say the began collecting archival documents and exhibits for the exhibition at the beginning of the Revolution of Dignity. Numerous evidence of the recent, but already historical events were provided for the museum by their participants: community activists, soldiers and volunteers.

In total, over 300 exhibits: bold posters and creative postcards of students from the first rallies, patriotic stickers of the AutoMaidan participants, documentary photographs from campaigns of unity, flags saved from fire, military equipment, homemade weapons, icons and children’s drawings found in the pockets of killed soldiers…   

Three years of struggle full of tragedy and heroism fitted in a small exhibition room.

April 16 at 15.00, in the courtyard of Uzhgorod Castle, there will be a solemn memorial rally, after which later the exhibition will be opened. According to the organizers, the exhibition will run continuously and, if necessary, will be updated, the Department of Culture of the RSA informs.
