The group Save Uzhhorod informs that "instead of gradually reducing the number of advertising designs in the historical center, the city government plans to triple it – instead of 2 city-lights on Koryatovich and Fedynets streets, there will be 6.
Today, at the meeting of the Executive Committee of Uzhgorod City Council, they plan to grant permits for the placement of 6 city-lights. For 5 years.
Not only that, it is planned to place a giant banner measuring 6×6 meters on the house on the corner of Petofi Square and Shvabska street.
Take that, citizens.
The said citylights are located on the territory of the local monument Castle Hill.
According to clause 5 of Article 24 of the Law "On the Protection of the Cultural Heritage", the placement of advertising on monuments of local significance or within the protection zones of these monuments shall be subject to a permit issued in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Advertising" involving the executive body of the regional state administration.
Issuance of permits by the executive committee of the City Council without the approval of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration is excess of powers and violation of the Law."
