A modern and integrated system of cashless payment for urban transport will be launched in Uzhgorod. The memorandum on the introduction of the new system developed by the PrivatBank and Mastercard was signed by the Chairman of the PrivatBank Petro Krumhanzl and the Deputy Mayor of Uzhgorod Igor Fartushok.
According to the head of the PrivatBank, the new system will allow residents and guests of the city to pay fares not in cash, but in any convenient cashless way – such as cards, smartphones, banking applications, and one-time tickets with QR-codes, which can be bought at most city outlets. On the other hand, the new system does not require additional financial investments from local authorities and will be as open and transparent as possible, and it will make it possible to automate the payment accounting system.
Thanks to the implementation of the new project, city residents will be able to pay fares in any of the 148 city buses by using a payment card of any bank, smartphone or a watch with digital wallet, or by scanning a QR code from the Privat24 mobile application or a paper QR-ticket The QR-ticket printing service is already available at POS-terminals of the PrivatBank at most outlets in Uzhgorod.
