Information for Transcarpathians: in Hungary, HUF 20,000 bills are being withdrawn from circulation

On January 1, 2017, the Central Bank of Hungary withdraws from circulation HUF 20,000 banknotes issued before 2015, the myhungary.net informs. The banknotes will not be accepted by retail chains, so it will be impossible to pay with them for purchases in any commercial establishment. So far, about 75% of all banknotes have been withdrawn from circulation.

However, 20,000 forint banknotes issued before 2015 will not lose their value after the deadline.

Credit institutions and the postal service will accept the notes until December 31, 2019, and the Central Bank will be converting them until December 2036.
