Information for tourists!

This year, the weather has delayed the flowering season in Transcarpathia, but tourism experts are already advising when to come to admire sakura, magnolia or tulip trees in Uzhgorod, the Narcissus Valley in Khust and the Saffron Valley in the "Old Village" in Kolochava.

The head of the portal "Tourinform Transcarpathia" Oleksandr Koval told about that in an exclusive comment to the Ukrinform.

"This year, the adverse weather has delayed the arrival of spring not only in the country as a whole, but also in Transcarpathia, where it is believed that the spring comes earlier. Consequently, the traditional timeframe for the flowering of seasonal plants has shifted by a week and a half. But now it is possible to predict that the sakura blooming in Uzhgorod can be expected in the second decade of April – you can safely go for a weekend to Uzhgorod on April 21-22. We predict that that is when the blossoming will be in full swing. The season of sakura flowering in Uzhgorod lasts for about two weeks," – Koval said.

It should be noted that, along with sakuras, magnolias, lilacs and other plants also bloom in the city: Uzhgorod becomes a real garden city.

According to him, at this time, various events are held in the city – this year those will be the festival of rose wines Sakura Wine and the international dance tournament Uzhgorod Open, theater fest of chamber performances on the small stage of the Transcarpathian Regional Drama Theater.

The expert emphasizes that, in addition to Uzhgorod, which is considered the city of sakuras, these Japanese cherries also bloom in Mukachevo and Vynogradiv.

By the way, there is the map of sakuras, where one can find city streets, where these trees bloom.

"The Narcissus Valley, another popular attraction during the flowering season in Transcarpathia, this year will bloom in the first days of May. Tours there should be planned for this period", – Koval said.

And the famous saffrons are already blooming!
