As we announced, today, a long-awaited event took place in Beregovo – on the Independence Day, the monument to Taras Shevchenko was inaugurated in the city, – the Zakarpattya online informed.
The ceremony was attended by the deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Viktor Mikulin, the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council Yosyp Borto, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region Oleg Voyevodin, the Mayor of Beregovo Zoltan Babyak, the head of the Transcarpathian regional organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine Vasyl Husti and the author of the bronze sculpture, known Transcarpathian artist Vasyl Olashyn.
