In Vynogradiv, they consecrated the Cross in memory of the deceased Heaven’s Hundred

Near the monument of the Mother of God, at the construction site of the Temple of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate, there was a meeting of people on the occasion of the sad date, as these days mark forty days since the tragic events in Kyiv.

            The idea to perpetuate the memory of the Heaven’s Hundred came to Yevhen Ukhach – the head of the church community. He also initiated the construction of the cross.  During those forty days, the parishioners themselves were working on the construction of the Cross.

                        The consecration of the Cross in Vynogradiv was attended by the clergy: the Bishop of Uzhgorod and Transcarpathian Kyryl, Father Valeriy Fozekosh, archpriests Vasyl Brytvak, Victor Khudlyak, Ivan Roshkolyuk. After the service, the soldiers of the Vynogradiv garrison fired from guns to pay tribute to the Heaven’s Hundred. After that, activists of Euromaidan Yevhen Ukhach, the chairman of the district council Oleg Lyubimov, the chairman of the NGO "Maidan" Mykhailo Lisitski spoke at the requiem rally, poet Svitlana Tarnavska recited her poem.  Near the consecrated cross, they planted young trees and lit candles in memory.

            Also in Vynogradiv, there was a charity requiem concert in memory of the Heaven’s Hundred with the amateur folk instruments orchestra of the city community center and the chamber teachers choir of Vynogradiv music school.
