In Vynogradiv, the head District Council began is being persecuted because of elections

The head of Vynogradiv District Election Commission Oleg Mokin filed with Vynogradiv prosecutor a statement that the head of Vynogradiv District Council Oleg Lyubimov, allegedly abusing his official position, after the local elections in 2010 had created obstacles to Vynogradiv Regional Election Commission in the exercise of its powers.

The head of the commission believes that the commission was not given space, communications, equipment, machinery and was not provided with the financial support to fulfill its mandate to conduct election in 2012.

These actions are nothing but political persecution, because according to the law on elections of people’s deputies, Article 32 provides that "Costs for the preparation and conduct of the elections are carried out exclusively at the expense of the state budget of Ukraine and the election funds of political parties (blocs) whose candidates are registered in the multi-mandate constituency, and candidates registered in single-member constituencies."
