In Vynogradiv district, a drunk driver hit a policeman

Transcarpathian police are establishing all circumstances of inflicting bodily harm to an officer of Patrol Police in Transcarpathian region, which took place on May 3 in the village of Bukove, Vynogradiv district. 

 

"On Thursday, May 3, at 23:53, a patrol police vrew stopped a car Citroën Nemo for violating the traffic rules. The driver of the vehicle had signs of intoxication. The man, who was behind the wheel, refused to undergo any medical examination. The driver began to behave aggressively and hit the patrol policemen, which the policeman immediately reported and sought medical assistance at Vynogradiv district hospital", – said Olga Martin, the spokeswoman of the Patrol Police Office in Transcarpathian region, said. 

One crew of officers of the Vynogradiv Police Department arrived at the scene. Law enforcers interviewed witnesses and the victim. A criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 342 of the CCU, that is resistance to an officer of a law enforcement agency performing his or her official duties. Such an offense is punishable by a fine of 50 to 100 tax-free minimum incomes, or arrest for a term of up to six months, or restraint of liberty for a term of up to four years, or imprisonment for a term of up to two years.

 Information about mass riots, distributed by some media, is not true.
