Opening of a monastery is an extraordinary event in the spiritual life of Vinogradiv. The construction of the monastery of St. Simeon was commenced back in 1999, and recently its sanctification was held.
St. Simeon monastery stretched in a picturesque corner of the street Kopanska. He is the first and so far the only one male monastery in Vinogradiv. The date of the sanctification was chosen not randomly – on the day of commemorating of St. Simeon.
The important event in the spiritual life of Vinogradiv gathered not only a large number of believers and worshipers, but the abbots of monasteries, clergy not only from Vinogradiv district, but from all over Transcarpathia. Top clerics, the ruling Archbishop of Khust and Vinogradiv Mark, Bishop of Berdyansk Ephraim, were also present.
