In Velyky Berezny district, a man was killed due to poaching involving a law enforcement officer and a deputy

Today, in the morning, near the village of Lubnya in Velyky Berezny district, in the territory of Uzhanskyi National Nature Park (UNNP), there was an accident resulting in the death of a man. Deputy of Velyky Berezny District Council from the Radical Party (former employee of Velyky Berezny district police) Ivan Psyaika with his friend Mykhailo Sichka (Police Major, Chief of the Gun Control Sector in the Licensing System of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region) went hunting in the forest near the village of Lubnya in the territory of the UNNP. During the hunt, I. Psyaika inadvertently shot his partner M. Sichka who died on the spot.

– I express my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, – the head of the Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal said. – However, I can not ignore the fact that the persons involved in the accident, being directly related to law enforcement, were engaged in poaching on the territory of Uzhanskyi National Nature Park. I have instructed the prosecutor’s office and the Main Office of the National Police to thoroughly investigate the circumstances of the tragedy and make tough conclusions. No favors to anyone, everyone is equal before the law. This case should be a lesson for anyone who wants to deliberately break the law.
