It is the monument to the victims of the Holocaust opened in Uzhgorod in early September near the former Jewish synagogue, the zaholovok.com.ua informed.
On November 26, on the Day of remembrance of the victims of Holodomor in Ukraine, unknown persons doused the monument with red paint and scattered provocative leaflets inciting ethnic hatred.
The text, which was sent from the address patriot44@mail.ua together with the photos, reads that it was done by "unknown Transcarpathian nationalists", and they call it "an act of revenge on the so-called Jewish "holy place." Since no specific names were mentioned, nobody assumed responsibility for the act itself.
While nobody has appealed to Transcarpathian police about the desecration of the monument, they already began to investigate into the matter.
