Today, in Uzhgorod, they concreted in a new bowl of the pool that is a part of the fountain, located in the Rock garden between Poshtova and Petofi squares.
According to the contractors, this time the bowl will be retaining water. They added into the concrete mix a special substance, which crystallizes upon the curing and forms a waterproof barrier.
The previous major repair of the mini lake in the Rock garden was performed about two years ago. Then they covered the bottom with the special thick film, which was to retain water. However, the reservoir was quickly polluted, the film was damaged and the fountain ceased to operate.
According to the workers, the new fountain will be launched on the Day of the City (September 29). The supervisor of the work said: "The reconstruction is carried out by the personal orders of Viktor Pogorelov."
