In Uzhgorod, there will be two “beaches”. But you can not swim there

The Executive Committee determined the places of public recreation in Uzhgorod near water.

Since swimming in the Uzh is officially prohibited, it does not involve recreation in the water. Not only swimming, but also boating and sailing in other vessels is prohibited.

"Places of recreation" themselves will reach three thousand square meters: near the children’s railway within Botanichna embankment on the right bank of the Uzh – 1000 sq.m., from Navoi lane to the road bridge within Kyivska embankment – 2000 sq.m.

The water utility was instructed to arrange drainage, and the electricity company – to supply electricity to the places of recreation.

Also, teachers should organize lessons on safety on the water.

The member of the Executive Committee Israfil Vasilkin (swimming coach) spoke at the Executive Committee that they should not turn a blind eye on swimming in the city – because people, despite the ban, swim at the quarry.

"If we know about this, we should provided rescuers, medical care."

The thing is that since the safety of water bodies in the city is not ensured, and the city authorities do not want to take responsibility, they traditionally prohibit swimming.  

Therefore, the Executive Committee decided to reconsider the issue of swimming in Uzhgorod thoroughly and with specialists.

Meanwhile, they arranged for cabanas and showers on the "beaches". Members of the executive committee still insist that places for swimming should also be determined.

At the end of the debate, they decided to meet in the City Council for discussion of the topic of water recreation the next Monday. If anyone is interested and has ideas, come at 10.00
