A resident of the city of Uzhgorod from Mozhaisky Street filed a statement to the police. Arriving home, the woman found out that a TV set "Samsung" worth 6,500 UAH had been stolen from the apartment. The lock on the door was not broken, which meant that the thief had picked up a key.
The police arrested the burglar in "hot pursuit". During the national preventive check, officers of the city Criminal Police arrested a 28-year resident of the city of Uzhgorod previously convicted of theft.
The burglar confessed to the crime, the physical evidence – stolen TV set – was seized and will be returned to the owner.
Criminal proceeding over the incident was initiated under Part 3 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (burglary). The choice of a pre-trial restraint against the burglar is being decided.
