Today in Uzhgorod, the clergy of the 12 religious denominations held a joint prayer for the soldiers of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade, who are return to the Donbas to protect Ukraine.

During the meeting, the historic document – the Declaration on the Establishment of the Inter-Confessional Spiritual Council of Transcarpathia – was signed.

The event, initiated by the bishop of Uzhgorod and Transcarpathia of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate Barsanuphius, took place in such format for the first time. It was held in the Fireplace Hall of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

The holy fathers prayed for peace in Ukraine, for the support of our soldiers protecting the integrity of the state on the Donbas, the entire Ukrainian people and prosperity in Transcarpathia.

"Today, on behalf of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade, I want to thank all the clerics who gathered for the joint prayer for our servicemen who are heading to the East to defend the borders of our homeland from the invaders. Prayer is a great gift of God given to us, to humanity, so that we could ask God to protect us all and, in particular, our military. Because they are sacrificing their own lives and health to protect each and every one of us," – Bishop Barsanuphius emphasized at the beginning of the joint prayer.

Following the prayer and signing of the Declaration on the Establishment of the Inter-Confessional Spiritual Council of Transcarpathia, the clergymen suggested to hold in the Fireplace Hall of the Regional State Administration in October this year a prayer breakfast with the participation of the authorities and the clergy of the region, – the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration reported.
