In Uzhgorod, police detained a rapist

On Friday, February 14, Uzhgorod police received a report of the rape of a 17-year-old girl. 
Local police officers quickly identified and detained the rapist. He is a 26-year-old native of the city of Zolochiv, Lviv region, who has been recently living in Uzhgorod.
The investigators initiated criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (rape of a minor). The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and he has already been notified of being suspected. The police are preparing the necessary materials and will soon apply to the investigating judge requesting to take the detainee into custody without bail.
