In Uzhgorod, in the confectionery of Valentin Shtefanyo, a penguin standing on an iceberg became the symbol of the year

The Transcarpathian chocolatier, created an edible flightless bird, instead of the Fire Rooster, the kp.ua informed.

Lately, the visitors of the famous Uzhgorod confectionary of Valentin Shtefanyo have been greeted by a penguin standing on an iceberg. The master made the chocolate bird for New Year and Christmas holidays. All this time, the bird will be standing in the same confectionery.

The benguin weighs 62 kg, and it took 50 kg of dark chocolate and the iceberg took 12 kg of white chocolate. The penguin is edible. But the chocolate is melted and painted with food dyes, so it is not recommended to eat Shtefanyo’s penguin.

After the holidays, the penguin will be melted and turned into another chocolate product. As for the reason the chocolatier decided to make a penguin, instead of the Fire Rooster – the symbol of the New Year, the workers explain: penguin is a bird, too, though not flying. And it is impossible to make a chocolate rooster – it would be disproportionate, with a large tail, and it would be difficult to hold that weight on two chicken legs.
