In Uzhgorod district, two policemen were beaten by locals

In the village of Serednye in Uzhgorod district, a group of persons attacked law enforcement officers performing their official duties 
This was reported by the communications department of the Transcarpathian regional police.
On September 22, at about 11:00 pm, the police received a report that in the village of Serednye in Uzhgorod district, a group of people had caused bodily harm to two officers of the Uzhgorod district police department.  
The investigative team found out that while ensuring public order at the festival of folk art in the village of Serednye, law enforcement officers responded to an accident in the service area. The driver of a car "VAZ-21015", being in the state of intoxication, drove into the ditch. While the police officers were talking to the man, several people approached them from behind and began to fight them. As a result of the incident, two law enforcement officers sustained injuries.   
The police initiated a criminal proceeding under Article 345 (2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (threat or violence against a law enforcement officer). 
The attackers were identified. Those were a 29-year-old local resident and his 40-year-old relative. They are testifying at the police department. The legal classification and the choice of pre-trial retraint against them is being decided.
