Yesterday, on the outskirts of the village of Velyki Lazy in Transcarpathia, border guards stopped a compact car "OPEL ZAFIRA" with Polish registration driven by a Russian citizen, who was carrying 6 people claiming to be citizens of Afghanistan, without any documents.
The detention took place during the joint special border operation "FRONTIER-2018" and the target prevention activities "Migrant" by an interagency group, consisting of operational staff of the State Border Guard Service, representatives of the National Police and the State Migration Service.
The detainees were taken to the "Uzhgorod" department of the Chop detachment for filtration and verification measures. During the interview, the foreigners told that they were planning to enter the EU bypassing border crossing points.
The citizen of the Russian Federation was detained in accordance with Art. 208 CPC of Ukraine (Detention by an authorized official) by representatives of the National Police in Transcarpathian region.
