The tragedy occurred yesterday around 21.00, near the village of Onokivtsi in Uzhgorod district. A 22-year-old resident of Uzhgorod and her 20-year-old friend were walking their dogs in the evening. Near a local gas station, they decided to cross the railway line to reach the main road. At this time, a train was coming, and the pair together with dogs were run over by the train. The man survived, and the girl died from her injuries.
The police launched criminal proceeding over this incident. Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the night tragedy.
