On September 1, at 19:29, the Rescue Service "101" was reported about a fire in a street facility in the Ivanivtsi neighbourhood in the village of Serednye in Uzhgorod district. To eliminate the fire, crews of the 16th and 14th State Fire and Rescue units were sent at the scene. Overall, 2 fire trucks and 8 firefighters.
Upon the arrival of the rescuers, the fire had engulfed much of street facility and already started to spread to a residential house located nearby. So, the firefighters had to act very quickly in order to prevent the fire spreading over the entire area of the house. At 20:11, the firefighters contained the fire, and at 20:35 – completely eliminated it.
The cause of fire is under investigation, but most likely the fire started due to violation of electrical installation rules. Because, all the wiring in the building was laid on combustible foundation and the lamp was without cover, contrary to all the rules of fire safety.
The fire destroyed the wooden structures of the walls, roof structures over the area of 12 square meters and hay. Also 2 sq. m. of the roof of the residential house was partially damaged. The amount of loss is being established.
Nobody was injured or killed.
