In Uzhgorod district, a 13-year-old boy caught a bullet for plucking roses

On July 30, a doctor of the Regional Clinical Hospital in Uzhgorod reported that they had admitted a 13-year-old boy, a resident of the village of Baranyntsi in Uzhgorod district, with gunshot wounds to the chest, legs and neck. 

Law enforcement officers found out that the wounds resulted from an attempt of the 13-year-old boy to pluck a few roses from a man’s yard in the neighboring village of Korytnyany. When the owner noticed the boy, he took a hunting rifle (registered) and began to shoot.  

The boy is in the hospital. According to doctors, his condition is stable and severe.

A criminal proceeding has been opened over the incident under Article 15, Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempt to murder).  

The investigation is underway.
