At the market in Uzhgorod, a 32-year-old man was looking for a buyer for 7.62 mm cartridges to an assault rifle. And in Berezny, a 51-year-old previously convicted man tried to sell assault rifle ammunition of 5.45 mm caliber. The police seized the ammunition and opened investigation.
On January 17, Uzhgorod police received the information from a citizen that at the city market a man was looking for a buyer for cartridges. Having his description, the police officers detained on Borodin street, a 32-year-old resident of Uzhgorod and seized from him 19 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber. When asked where he had gotten them, the man said that he had found the ammunition in the summer, while picking mushrooms near the shooting range in the village of Orikhovytsia…
On the same day, the police of V.Berezny was reported that near the railway station, a man was offering to buy cartridges for 50 hryvnia. The investigative team arrived at the scene. The police arrested a 51-year resident of Berezny, previously convicted for theft, and seized from him 23 cartridges of 5.45 mm caliber.
All the seized ammunition was sent for examination. The police started criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal handling of ammunition.
