In Uzhgorod, a woman stole a purse from a shoe store visitor’s bag

Law enforcers found a woman, who had brazenly stolen another person’s purse. Pre-trial restraint will be imposed on the suspect.

Recently, a 56-year-old resident of Uzhgorod turned to the police to report a theft of her purse. The woman stated that her money and bank cards had been stolen in a shoe store. 

Uzhgorod police began an investigation: as part of the investigation, law enforcement officers took the records from the surveillance cameras in the store. And soon, they identified the person suspected of the theft. It was a 23-year-old resident of Uzhgorod, who had already been prosecuted for property crimes.

Law enforcement officers opened a criminal proceeding over illegal possession of property under Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is theft. The woman admitted to having committed the crime. The choice of pre-trial restraint against the suspect is being decided.
