Passengers still get robbed in buses in Uzhgorod. And even if pickpockets are caught "red-handed" and handed over to the police, in a few weeks they can be seen in public transport again.
By the way, pickpockets can work in pairs or with an accomplice who quickly picks them up after leaving a bus. Like in the case which Victoria Kovach told about online:
"Be careful. Bus pickpockets are at work again. Today (November 13) in a bus No. 12, around 4:00 pm, a blonde woman 30-35 years old tried to steal the wallet from my bag. I felt my backpack being opened and turned around as she immediately put the wallet back. She began to threaten me and call someone. As soon as the bus stopped, a car pulled over next to the man, a man with a crowbar came out of it and wanted to break the door. The driver opened the door, the woman ran out and they left… Here is a video of their car." – the girl wrote.
Victoria immediately called the police, provided video and photos and wrote a statement.
By the way, some drivers who already know the pickpockets by sight, warn their passengers when they come.
