Recently, a 43-year-old local woman called the police. The woman reported that she had been robbed by a taxi driver, who had taken her purse, which contained UAH 800, a mobile phone and documents.

Thanks to the professional actions of district police officers, the unscrupulous taxi driver was found, and this theft was solved. The thief was a 34-year-old Uzhgorod resident who spent several years in prison, serving a sentence for committing frauds and thefts. After having been released, the ex-convict began to work as a taxi driver, but prison did not teach him anything and he fell back into old habits…

The Investigation Department of Uzhgorod city police opened criminal proceedings against the offender under Part 1 of Art.185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft), which provides for punishment in the form of a fine up to fifty minimum wages, correctional works for up to two years, or imprisonment for up to three years. The investigation is ongoing – Diana Dorohiy, Uzhgorod City Police reported.
