In Uzhgorod, a tax officer was caught on 5000 dollars bribe

Yesterday, a taxman was arrested for bribery. A 37-year-old entrepreneur complained to Uzhgorod law enforcement officers that the deputy head of the excise goods turnover and taxation control department of the Main Office of the Ministry of income and taxes in Transcarpathian region, a civil servant of the 5th category, 9th rank, a 36-year-old resident of Uzhgorod was demanding from him 5000 USD of undue advantage for positive resolution of his case and further assistance.

At 21.00, on Mynaiska street, police officers arrested the taxman who had received from the entrepreneur the second installment of the bribe in amount of $ 4000. The first installment in amount of $ 1000 had been received by him on January 11.  Physical evidence – 4,000 USD – was found in the backseat of his car "Volkswagen Golf". The tax officer was arrested and delivered to a temporary holding facility.
