In Uzhgorod, a laptop thief has been found

Recently, a 38-year-old local resident reported to Uzhgorod police that an unknown person through an unlocked window had entered into his office and stolen a laptop from there.

The detectives of the Criminal Investigation Department of Uzhgorod city police found out that the crime had been committed by a 26-year-old resident of Uzhgorod, who, prior to that, had not been on police record, never been brought to justice, and was an exemplary father and husband…

The offender said that recently he had been fired from his job, which was the main source of income in the family. Because of the loss of the job, he could not repay the loan at the bank, and this prompted him to commit the theft…

 

– The stolen laptop was returned to the victim. This incident was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations and the criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft, coupled with breaking and entering) has been opened, – the chief of Uzhgorod city police Lt. Col. Yevhen Kalytych reported. – Under the applicable law, such act is punishable with imprisonment for a term of 3 to 6 years.
