In Uzhgorod, a car hit a man at a crosswalk

The car accident happened yesterday, December 9, at around 5:30 pm, on Gagarin Street in Uzhgorod. 
On Gagarin street in the city of Uzhgorod, the driver of a "VAZ 21114" hit a pedestrian. The victim is in a medical institution. Investigation over the accident has been initiated.
At the scene, an investigation team determined that the driver of the car "VAZ-21114", a 62-year-old resident of the village of Ruski Komarivtsi, moving along Gagarin street in the direction of exit from the city, had hit a pedestrian – 60-year-old Uzhgorod resident, who was crossing the carriageway at the pedestrian crossing.
The man was injured and is currently being treated in the central city hospital.
Investigators of the Uzhgorod Police Department opened criminal proceedings over violation of the rules of traffic safety with victims under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The driver was tested. The man was sober. The vehicle was taken to the police department impound lot. The investigation is ongoing.
