On February 10, at 6:41 pm, Uzhgorod police officers received a report of a car accident with a victim on Sobranetska Street. A 20-year-old female student was hospitalized as a result of the car accident.
The investigation team found out that a 43-year-old Uzhhorod driver of a vehicle VAZ 21063, while driving along Sobranetska Street towards Mytna Street, ran into a female pedestrian who was crossing the road on an unregulated pedestrian crossing. As a result of the collision, the 20-year-old girl bumped into a car Citroen, which had stopped on the opposite side of the pedestrian crossing.
The victim with numerous injuries was taken to Uzhgorod city hospital. The cars were taken to the impound lot of the city police department. The driver is suspected of a criminal offense under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules), – the communication department of the Transcarpathian regiona police informs.
