According to the website of the city of Uzhgorod, the main goal of the program, which was approved today by the city deputies, is to create favorable conditions for intensive development of small and medium business in the city, increase its potential, solve employment issues, legalize jobs, get vulnerable categories of population involved in social activities and more.
In total, almost 2.5 million hryvnias are provided for the program. In 2020, in particular, 770 thousand hryvnias will be allocated from the city budget.
During the period of 2019, 1507 natural persons-entrepreneurs and 333 legal entities were registered in the State Tax Inspectorate in Uzhgorod. Revenues to the city budget from personal income tax for 2019 amounted to more than 780 million hryvnias.
The vast majority of small businesses are involved in trade and consumer services (shops, cafes, beauty salons, clothing repair, etc.). Almost 85 percent of it is formed by private entrepreneurs, who are the largest source of revenue to the city budget.
