In Tyachiv district, a police officer was forced to shoot in order to disarm a bully with a knife

At night the police unit went on a call about a family quarrel in one of the houses in the village of Solotvyno in Tyachiv district. There, an inadequate 32-year-old man threatened to his girlfriend with an ax. The arrival of the police did not calm down the rowdy who suddenly began to threaten the police officers with a knife.
Then, one of the police officers, a 39-year-old assistant district officer in the rank of police master sergeant, made a warning shot in the air. Only then the bully calmed down and was taken to the district police department to execute an administrative protocol.
In this case, the police officer acted in accordance with Article 15 of the Law of Ukraine "On Police", which allows police officers to use firearms in the cases provided for by the law – informed the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.
