Yesterday, on March 6, there was an accident with victims in the village of Kalyny in Tyachiv district. On John Lennon street, a 21-year-old resident of the village of Dubove driving a car Mercedes with foreign registration failed to maintain safe speed and drove on the right side of the road, where he hit a pedestrian child born in 2006. The girl died from the injuries in an ambulance vehicle.
According to the driver, he drove on the sidewalk in order to avoid collision with another car. He did not notice the child. The circumstances are being establsihed.
No signs of alcohol intoxication of the driver were detected. The vehicle was taken to the impound lot. A criminal proceeding was opened under Article 286, Part 2. The perpetrator faces 3 to 8 years imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.
