According to the Communications department of the Transcarpathian regional police, a car VAZ 2110 driven by a local resident caught fire in the village of Vilkhivtsi, Tyachiv district, while driving on the roadway.
Police, who heard about the incident from drivers, responded quickly and helped the woman.
"Last night, at about 10.50 pm, Tyachiv police received a message of gratitude from a resident of the village of Vilkhivtsi. The woman said that while she was driving a car, heavy smoke started coming from under the hood of her car, after which the car caught fire. The woman could not put out the fire by herself and asked for help.
Officers of the Tyachiv district patrol police response team, who were on duty 500 meters away, having heard about the incident, immediately went to the rescue. Police officers immediately used a fire extinguisher that was in their car and extinguished the fire," – the statement says.
The crew of the patrol police response team of the Tyachiv department, who helped the woman, assure that it is their direct duty, because a real policeman should be where people need their help.
