On Tuesday, April 23, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the region Mykhailo Popovich there was a meeting on the price situation on the market of bread and bakery products.
In the region there are about 150 businesses engaged in the production of bread and bakery products. In addition, there is a network of supermarkets that carry out production and sale of bread through their own distribution network. In each district and city there are now an average of 6 bakeries. The volume of bakery products production in the region in 2012 is 8.95 tons.
It was agreed with representatives of retailers to assign some retail space for social breads, such as bread of the first grade flour and wheat and rye bread.
In turn, the regional state administration, in order to lower prices for popular sorts of bread, are ready to offer bakeries the flour from the state intervention fund, whose price today is lower than the market one.
The work on provision of the people with social breads at reasonable prices will be also carried out at the district administrations level.
