In Transcarpathia, two persons died on fires

On December 23, at 00:16, the Rescue Service of Vynogradiv District received reports of a fire on Chervonoarmiyska street in the village of Korolevo.

The house of a 31-year-old local resident was burning.

The fire was noticed by passers-by. Seeing the flames in the window, the men rushed to help. They went inside and found the owner’s 35-year-old brother in a burning room. Wasting no time, they took the man outside, but he was already dead. 

Rescuers of the local fire brigade stationed in this village and firefighters of the 6th state fire and rescue unit of the city of Vynogradiv were sent to eliminate the fire. In total. two vehicles and 5 rescuers were engaged.

At 00:41, they contained the fire, and at 1:53 completely eliminated it. The fire destroyed: the property inside the house, 3 doors, 1 window, 12 sq.m. of wooden roof boarding.

The rescuers managed to save from fire part of the residential house and a summer kitchen located next to the house.

The cause of the fire and damages are under investigation.

Another fire with fatal consequences occurred in the morning of December 23 in the city of Uzhgorod on Tykha street.

At 08:55, the Rescue Service received a report about a fire in the house of a 86-year-old woman. Crews of the firefighters from the 15th and 14th state fire and rescue units were sent to eliminate it. While fighting the fire, rescuers found the body of the owner in a room of the house.

At 9:15, the fire was contained, and at 10:15 – eliminated completely.

The State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region appeals to citizens asking to be careful when handling fire and strictly observe the rules of fire safety.
