In Transcarpathia, there is an avalanche hazard in the mountains – rescuers

A significant level of avalanche hazard remains in some places in the highlands of the Carpathians.

According to the Rescue Service of Transcarpathia, on April 7-8, due to thawing, the 3rd level of avalanche hazard remains in the highlands of the eastern part of Transcarpathian region.

And in the highlands of the western and central parts of the Carpathians, moderate 2nd level of avalanche hazard is expected.

Also, the Ukrainian Weather Center reported that on April 1, there was a wet snow avalanche with a volume of 2450 cubic meters on the Play Mt., the drop height was 1050 m above sea level.

No one was injured as a result of the avalanche, no damage was caused.
