In Transcarpathia, the Security Service of Ukraine seized nearly 8 kilograms of mercury (PHOTOS)

June 16, 2014, a resident of Mukachevo reported to the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region that he had found a suspicious package with an unknown substance.

Officers of the Security Service of Ukriane, regional offices of the State Emergencies Service and MIA immediately arrived at the scene. Near the center of Mukachevo, in the park, the police officers found a package with glass containers that contained a chemical of the first class hazard – mercury. The total weight was almost 8 kilograms.

Law enforcement officers and experts of the State Emergencies Service Office removed the package with poisonous substance for disposal – the press group of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region reported.
