In Transcarpathia, the police found weapons in a box of children’s toys

Rapid response team and the investigation department of Rakhiv Police, during an authorized search, found and seized weapons from a resident of the district center.

According to the court decision, police officers conducted a search in the apartment of a resident of Rakhiv under the criminal proceeding under Art. 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie misappropriation of a vehicle. The police officers were searching for the engine of the motorcycle, which had been stolen from the suspect’s neighbor. In addition to the engine, the officers of Rakhiv police found 29 cartridges, a bayonet-knife and a baton.All the weapons were found in a casket, which was in a box with children’s toys.

The arsenal owner explained that he used the knife to slaughter cattle, and the baton and the cartridges were his father’s. All the weapons were seized and sent for examination. A criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives.
