On October 13, operatives of the economic crime department of the National Police in Transcarpathian region jointly with investigators of the regional police detained a couple of corrupt teachers. The wife is the director of a higher education establishment, the husband is the mediator and teacher of the Economic College of this university.
Thus, the director demanded for enrollment 500 USD. Her husband, a college teacher, was a mediator. With such a corruption "duet", the money remained in the family.
The man was detained at a gas station when receiving undue benefits.
The police officers seized 500 USD.
Criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Art.368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or obtaining of undue advantage by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been opened.
They face imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years, with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years, with confiscation of property.
